DVRS
Digital and VCR recording solutions are currently available. Digital storage systems offer superior performance and the most cost-effective solution. Digital storage devices facilitate quick, easy and reliable retrieval of recorded images. VCRs, while previously the technology of choice, may exhibit disadvantages including equipment maintenance costs, videotape changing, inefficient event retrieval and poor image quality. Digital storage devices can remedy these problems at prices that are lower than the total life cycle cost of VCRs. There are 2 main types of DVR systems, Stand-alone systems and PC-Based systems.

Stand-Alone DVR Systems
Stand-alone DVR systems are generally less expensive than a PC-based system. They are embedded with a chip and necessary software so they are not subject to the flaws of a Microsoft Windows Operating System. They can also be connected to a network,to allow for remote viewing and control.
Some available features include:
        -     CD-RW or USB port to allow for easy data transfer and                archiving
        -     4.8 or 16 channels provide a dedicated channel for each                camera on your system. This enables the user to view
any cameras full screen, even when viewing record
               material.
A Stand Alone DVR is the most cost-effective solution to video recording on the market today.
