     - Glass break sensors

There are two main types of glass break sensors. Acoustic sensors are mounted on a wall or ceiling and work off of sound waves, specifically the sound of breaking glass. The second type is a shock sensor that is mounted on to the window and feels the vibrations created when the glass is broken. When the glass is broken the alarm will sound, often scaring off intruders before they enter the house.

When a fire is detected by an integrated smoke detector, an alarm sounds to notify you and your family but also sends a signal to the central monitoring station who can notify the fire department.
